Our Year 9 students switched roles from pupils to teachers, hosting an energetic and highly successful Multi-Skills Festival for Reception pupils from Galmpton primary school.
The event was designed to offer the year 9 students a chance to develop their leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
From the moment the Galmpton students stepped off the bus, the atmosphere was one of high energy and focused activity.
Well done to all our Y9 students who were involved in such a positive and rewarding day - it looks like the Galmpton students really enjoyed themselves. You did Churston proud and hopefully inspired a next generation of Churstonians!

Year 8 students at Churston Ferrers have spent their term in Philosophy and Religious Studies delving into the intersection of faith and creativity for the prestigious international Spirited Arts competition.
They first studied religious art from the Global East and West before embarking on an art project of their own. Tasked with responding to religious themes, all 160 students produced a piece of art that was submitted to teachers and our Sixth Form judge, Emory, to narrow down.
To select the finalists, the school welcomed back Ellen McPetrie, an Old Churstonian and celebrated local artist, as a guest judge.
Facing the difficult task of narrowing down a diverse and high-quality field, Ellen spent Tuesday evaluating the technical skill and spiritual depth of the submissions.
After a rigorous selection process, five students have been chosen to represent the school on the international stage. Their work will now be sent off to compete against 3000 entries from across the globe.
The standard of work was incredibly high. We were glad to have a former student like Ellen return to see the talent currently emerging from our Year 8s and to judge the project.
Congratulations to the official finalists: Layla, Emily, Edison, Marley and Harrison.

To celebrate World Maths Day, Y7 investigated the possible number of platonic solids that could be made and why there are only 5 possible ones!
They made their own platonic solid and used their models to find the connection between the number of faces, vertices and edges.
This led them to discover Euler's formula F + V - E = 2.
