Support and Wellbeing

The jump to A-Levels is a big one, but you never have to navigate it alone. From academic mentoring and mental health support to financial assistance, we ensure every student has what they need to thrive.

A culture that puts wellbeing first

We know that academic success is impossible without personal wellbeing. The Sixth Form can be a demanding environment, which is why our pastoral support is visible, proactive, and accessible. Whether you need help adjusting to new routines or just someone to talk to, our door is always open.

How we support you

Pastoral Care and Tutors

Every student is assigned a dedicated Sixth Form tutor. They are your first point of contact for daily guidance, academic check-ins, and university preparation. Beyond your tutor, our Heads of Year and Sixth Form leadership team operate an "open door" policy for any student feeling overwhelmed.

Academic Mentoring

A-Levels demand a new level of independent study. Through structured study periods, subject-specific drop-in clinics, and targeted mentoring, we will help you build effective study habits, manage your time, and stay on track with your academic goals.

SEND Provision

We are committed to ensuring students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are fully supported. Our SENDCO works closely with the Sixth Form team to ensure individual needs are met, barriers to learning are removed, and exam access arrangements are securely in place.

Removing financial barriers with our bursary fund

We believe financial circumstances should never stand in the way of a brilliant education. If you are aged 16 to 19 and in further education, you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £1,200 a year.

This fund is paid directly by the school to help you manage the essential costs of Sixth Form life - such as course equipment, daily school lunches, and transport to and from school. We assess every application individually and handle all enquiries with absolute discretion and complete confidentiality.
