Opening doors to the future

We are incredibly proud of the outcomes our students secure year after year. At GCSE, our students make progress that sits well above the national average, a testament to their work ethic and the expert guidance of our teaching staff.

This momentum continues into our Sixth Form, where strong A Level performance opens doors to regular acceptances at Oxford, Cambridge, and Russell Group universities, as well as highly competitive degree apprenticeships.

At Churston, we know that results matter, but we also know that the best way to achieve them is by putting student wellbeing first.

Ofsted Report
October 2022

For 2025 and 2026, there will be no Progress 8 scores because of COVID-19. Historically, Churston has achieved positive scores such as +0.62 in 2023, meaning that students at Churston make significantly more progress from the end of primary school to the end of Year 11 than the national average.

Historically, 100% of our students move successfully into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment, with many securing places at top-tier universities.

We offer a range of specific tools and guidance for these important exam years. This includes exercises on memorising information, advice on coping with exam pressure, and help with planning revision.

Churston students achieved superb GCSE results in summer 2025 - the best results in Torbay.  20% of all grades were Level 9,  60% of all grades were Level 7-9 and the Attainment 8 score was 71.2 (this means the average grade was 7.12).

Our A level students secured outstanding results last summer.  45% of all grades were A* or A and fully  25% of our students achieved AAA or better.  These were the best A level results in Torbay.
