VI Form Admissions
ADMISSION CRITERIA – SIXTH FORM All students transferring from Year 11 at CFGS to Year 12 and all external applicants to Year 12 must meet the academic entry requirements. Students are admitted to the School, subject choices cannot be guaranteed. Students are accepted in Year 12 onto AS courses. Progression to A2 courses in Year 13 depends on the compliance with the Sixth Form contract and with meeting the progression requirements.ACADEMIC ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Application/transfer Internal students need to submit a completed transfer form containing preferred subject choice and external applicants need to submit a completed application form by 6 February. Transferees and applicants submitting forms after this date may be disadvantaged in the allocation to a subject group.
It is essential that students confirm on GCSE results day or the following day that they intend to take up their place in the Sixth Form. All students need to attend the registration day at the beginning of term to register and confirm their course, failure to do so may mean a student fails to get his/her subject choice if a subject is oversubscribed.
Over subscription policy for external applicants The Admissions Number for external applicants for Year 12 is 25. External applicants will be admitted according to the following criteria: Places for external applicants will be allocated in the following order of priority:
NOTE: Foreign qualifications will be dealt with on an individual basis but need, if possible, to be equivalent to the above qualifications. Applicants will need to demonstrate that their knowledge of the English language is sufficient for them to cope with the course.
