Driving Safely Around The School
Mindful of the need to maintain the safety of all members of the school community, please could we remind parents and those who bring students to school or collect them of the request not to drive into the school car parks or to use the entrances for turning.
Given the number of students using these entrances, the number of staff cars to be parked and the fact that buses come on site to drop students off, additional cars in these areas are causing problems and we need to work to avoid the danger of accidents.
With the volume of traffic in Greenway Road at these times of the day, please could we also encourage you to use the suggested one way system (see diagram) to ease the traffic flow.
We have also been asked by the bus companies which service the school to request that there is no parking on the ‘keep clear’ signs on the road; vehicles here obstruct the movement of buses into and out of the car park.
Thank you to those who are supporting the school’s effort to reduce its carbon footprint by lift sharing or using alternative methods of transport.
Thank you also to those who drop students elsewhere, thus easing congestion in Greenway Road; to assist with this, the lower part of the road between school and Manor Vale Road now has a marked pedestrian walkway.
We are sure that you will support our work to protect the safety of our students and thank you for your help.
