Basketball

Taught in curricular and extra-curricular time. The boys play up an age group in the local league. U14 against U15 and U15 against U16.
Many Churston players go on to represent their county.
Churston’s finest Basketball achievements have been to win the U19 Schools’ National Championship in 1989 and 1994. In 2002 the U14 team finished 6th in England and were also Plymouth & District Schools’ League Champions.
In the 2005 – 6 season the girls Basketball teams have had success with the U16 team being South Devon league runners up and the U18 team achieving regional runners up status and England Schools last 16 finalists.
The boys’ teams have also continued with a successful year.
The U16 team are South Devon Champions, South West England Schools champions and England Schools quarter finalists. Quite a similar story for the U18 team too, South Devon champions, South West England Schools champions and England Schools last 16 finalists.
