Centrax Visit
World Class Manufacturing Year 12 Business students were given a fantastic insight into the workings of a local major international manufacturing business, Centrax based in Newton Abbot. Apprentices of the company gave guided tours of the factories of both the turbine components and recently expanded gas turbine divisions. Sociologists Sent To Prison
Year 12 sociologists made the annual trip to Dartmoor prison to help add a little realism to studying crime and deviance. At the prison museum this year we met ‘Froggie’. Froggie is being released this month and was happy to chat to us, telling about his life ‘behind the door’, his early socialisation, his various misdemeanours and his hopes for the future. Sailors’ Success
Sixth form sailors Sarah Hussey and Andy Brierley were selected for the 2010/11 RS Feva Class National Squad in September 2010. The RS Feva is a two person dinghy and has been selected as a pathway boat for aspiring Olympic sailors . Sarah & Andy both sail at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club which offers sailing for all abilities from complete beginners upwards.Sarah & Andy had a very busy winter training programme with sessions... Tabitha Climbs Snowdon
On Saturday the 11th of June my family and I climbed up Mount Snowdon in Wales to raise money for a charity called Wateraid. Wateraid helps transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in some of the worlds poorest communities. On the way up to the summit we saw one other team that was climbing for Wateraid. Overall we have raised over £400 for Wateraid and we are hoping that will make a difference.... Continue reading...
